Abstract

Railway safety is one of the key tasks to ensure the reliability and sustainability of the entire transport system. In this regard, the most important task of the railway industry is to eliminate the convergence of rolling stock, which can lead to huge material and environmental damage and threaten the lives of passengers and transport workers. An analysis of the reasons for uncoupling wagons for repair in 2023 was carried out, which showed that the largest number of failures of wagon equipment falls on wheelsets. The article considers the technological process of inspection of wheel sets of rolling stock at the station for timely detection of defects that can lead to the descent of rolling stock, its shortcomings are revealed. The existing advanced devices for detecting defects in wheel sets of rolling stock at the station are analyzed. An innovative "Smart Hammer" has been developed, which allows you to automate the process of inspecting wheelsets at the station and eliminate the human factor in detecting defects.
