Abstract

The main task of the rolling stock today is the transportation of goods. The increase in the number and volume of transfers leads to the need to change such indicators of rolling stock as load capacity, traction force, geometric parameters of non-traction rolling stock, etc .To implement these changes, it is necessary not only to develop innovative rolling stock, but also to make changes to the existing one. The analysis of accidents involving railway transport shows that the existing design of the rolling stock is familiar and traditional, but with minor deviations from the normalized indicators of the geometric characteristics of the details of cars and locomotives, an emergency situation occurs, at best identified during operation.

Today, the transition from traditional rolling stock to innovative is quite slow, but the reason for this is the high price of the "new generation" rolling stock. Thus, it is necessary to set tasks to simplify the design of cars and locomotives by introducing more uncomplicated units and aggregates of rolling stock, while it is necessary to create all conditions for more correct management of such units and aggregates. For these purposes, it is possible to use various structural elements, the working body of which are liquids controlled under the influence of a magnetic field, or as they are commonly called magnetorheological liquids.
