Abstract

The analysis of unplanned repairs of DC traction motors carried out in the Moskovka service locomotive depot was carried out, thanks to which a conclusion was made about a large proportion of failures attributable to insulation. A method of impregnation of insulation based on the principle of electrolysis was developed and investigated. As a comparison to this method, impregnation was implemented by dipping the winding. Conclusions were drawn based on the results of the study, and as a conclusion, the question was raised about the expediency of impregnating traction motors in depot conditions with repeated restoration work of insulation already carried out during the repair process.
