TRANSFORMATION OF THE CARGO TRANSPORTATION MARKET IN THE RF: PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

Abstract

The trends in the development of the cargo transportation market in Russia in modern conditions of economic instability in international relations have been studied. The structure of the cargo transportation market in the world and in the Russian Federation is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to increasing the role of road transport in the Russian Federation. The main trends that have developed in the market of the leader in cargo transportation - motor transport - have been highlighted in recent years. Taking into account the fact that the growth of world trade stimulates the growth of road transport by an average of up to 8% per year, the main reasons for this trend have been identified. A powerful incentive to expand the market for transport services and logistics today is the development of the e-commerce sector. The market volume of this sector will exceed 10 trillion by 2025. rub., and the annual growth is stabilizing. Considering that the growth of market volumes is also characterized by an increase in the number of orders on the Russian e-commerce market, we analyzed the key factors influencing the further development of the transportation market at the present stage, and identified the most significant ones.

The dynamics of the freight rates index - ATI.SU - has been studied. In conclusion, based on the study, the main directions for the development of road freight transportation in the near future were identified, including the limited capacity of the Eastern railway range, a shortage of rolling stock in road transportation, rising rates for all types of transportation, inflation pressure, etc. The increasing role of insurance has been noted.
