DETERMINATION OF THE TECHNOLOGY FOR PASSING TRAINS OPTIMAL VARIANT DURING STOP IN THE OPERATION

Abstract

The article considers the issue of developing an optimal technology for passing freight and passenger trains on double-track lines during track repair time. The factors influencing the capacity of the line and the decision-making on the effective organization of the transportation process are investigated. A study of the dynamics of changes in the available train-handling capacity, depending on the application of various schemes for passing trains along the section. The paper suggests measures to improve the quality of transportation organization during the one track closure. Depending on the train schedule period, the amount of traffic and the duration of the break in train schedule, the nature of the change in train movement delays at stations when various actions are using. The conducted research has shown that the change in the ways of organizing the transportation process has a significant influence on the quantity of trains passing through the repaired station-to-station block and on the stable operation of the entire section in general.
