SPACE ACTIVITIES INSURANCE

Abstract

This article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of space insurance, an integral component of the modern aerospace industry that ensures financial stability and unprecedented risk management. The paper examines in detail the main types of space insurance. A comparative analysis of the activities of leading insurance companies specializing in this unique market segment is conducted, and the categories of spacecraft insurance are systematized, allowing to differentiate risks depending on the type and purpose of the object.

Particular attention is paid to the dynamics of insurance premiums and payments in the world market, which allows to assess the current state and development trends of the industry. The main types of risks typical for space projects are identified, including explosion and fire at the cosmodrome, rocket complex; accident, equipment failure; damage to life or health of workers; harm to the environment; damage to third parties as a result of an accident and other processes associated with the launch of the apparatus. Key factors affecting the likelihood of insured events are considered.

In the final part of the work, current problems in the development of space insurance are identified, such as the lack of a stable insurance market; insufficient regulatory framework; underdeveloped infrastructure; lack of risk information; high uncertainty; lack of new technologies. At the same time, prospects for the development of the industry in the context of active commercialization of space and the emergence of new technologies are determined. The study is intended to contribute to the understanding of investment protection mechanisms in the space sector and to promote the formation of a more sustainable and safe space economy.
