SOME ASPECTS OF THE STUDY OF THE STANDARD OF LIVING OF THE POPULATION IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

In the modern world, states strive for a balanced state of the spheres of society. The multitasking of the economy, the improvement of the social system, the development of regions as separate economic entities contributes to the development of the state as a strong power. However, along with the positive effect, there are also negative consequences. One of them is the problem of population differentiation.

The uneven distribution of resources is an actual problem of national economies, since inequality entails a number of socio-economic consequences.

In this paper, the authors conduct a study of socio-economic inequality at the level of the federal districts of the Russian Federation in the period 2005-2020. The analysis is carried out on the basis of consideration of the main indicators of inequality: population size, per capita income and expenditures of the population. investments in the fixed capital of the region, per capita expenses, the number of people with cash incomes below the regional subsistence level.

In the course of the study, the authors, based on the indicators, concluded that socio-economic inequality tends to increase, which, in turn, can affect both society and the state as a whole.
