PROSPECTS FOR THE DIGITAL DEVELOPMENT OF RAILWAY TRANSPORT ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE EASTERN POLYGON OF RZD JSC

The relevance of the topic under study is due to the fact that at the level of the transport industry (in particular, railway) in recent years there has been an increasing and growing interest in the opportunities and benefits, problems and risks of the digital economy, which open up new horizons for reaching a new level. The branches of national economy that use the latest technologies in their development increase the likelihood of increasing investments in their industry, since it is the advanced industries that are favorable for investing in them.
The purpose of the study is to study the prospects for the digital development of railway transport in the Eastern Polygon.
Research methods: information collection, analysis and synthesis, classification.
Research results: the features, problems and prospects of the Eastern Polygon were identified. Based on the economic, geographical and economic situation of the East Siberian and Far Eastern regions, measures were identified to improve the efficiency of railway transport, as well as possible directions for further activities within the framework of ESG, digitalization of the railway space, including control and transformation of educational activities in universities in the region, improvement of the document management system and tracking of transport, as well as the creation of a system instant dissemination of information to JSC “Russian Railways” and structural divisions.
The scientific novelty of the study is that the existing world achievements in the railway industry have been analyzed and only those that can be applied in reality and based on the features of the functioning of the Eastern Polygon of the railway transport network of Russia have been selected.
