ARCTIC ZONE AS A FACTOR OF NATIONAL ECONOMIC SECURITY

The Arctic, which for a long time remained a remote and inaccessible region, is now gaining strategic importance for the Russian Federation and the whole world. The melting of ice caused by climate change opens up new opportunities for shipping, mining and natural resource development, but also creates new challenges and threats to Russia's national security. This article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the Arctic zone as a key factor in the national economic security of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the work is to identify the threats and challenges that the Russian Federation faces in the Arctic, assess its potential and identify priority areas of activity to ensure economic security and sustainable development of the country. Special attention is paid to financing the sustainable development of the Arctic zone. The analysis of cargo turnover along the Northern Sea Route, as well as steps aimed at strengthening the position of the Russian Federation in the oceans and improving the efficiency of public administration in the Arctic zone.
