EVOLUTION, DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSFORMATION OF RAILWAY STATIONS

Abstract

The article examines the evolution of railway stations, which are key infrastructure facilities, important transport hubs that ensure the movement of millions of passengers every day. The development of railway stations reflects the change in the railway system itself, technological progress and changing passenger needs.

However, the problems associated with limited space at railway stations are becoming more and more urgent in the context of growing passenger traffic and the development of the transport system. These issues are of serious importance to society, as they relate to the comfort and safety of passengers, the efficiency of the passenger transportation system and the overall impression of using public transport. To solve these problems, it is necessary to transform railway stations into multifunctional complexes that not only have the function of a passenger transfer hub, but also offer an expanded range of services and a comfortable space for rest and work. The introduction of modern technologies, optimization of the layout and design of railway stations, as well as the development of information support, contribute to improving the quality of passenger service. Many railway stations have historical value and the preservation of their unique architectural details and elements is an important point when converting stations into complexes. Their preservation contributes to the development of tourism and the economy as a whole.  The transformation of railway stations into railway complexes is the creation of a space that will attract people with its modernity, comfort, opportunities and contribute to the economic development of cities and regions.
